More than 80 families came out to Compton Unified’s Family Literacy Night to celebrate literacy, the love of reading, and cultural identity. The evening kicked off with a special read-aloud from My Crown My Way, a powerful children’s book by the mother-daughter duo Naheemah McMicheaux-McCallop and Namia McCallop.

Samantha Genovez, a proud graduate of the Dominguez High School Class of 2025, is on her way to Mt. Saint Mary’s College this fall, where she will major in Biology. Her goal is to become a cardiologist—an aspiration fueled by determination, resilience, and the strong foundation she built in CUSD.

Meet Stephanie Sandoval, Dominguez High School Class of 2025 graduate. She will be attending Compton College in the fall, majoring in Cosmetology. She's been into makeup since she was little and wants to make a career out of it.
